Middle School Coding Competition: Could you use a $50 Amazon gift card? Would you like to develop skills that could earn you $40 per hour or $80,000 per year to start? Be ready, on March 15th, the first annual Palmyra Middle School coding competition will begin. A $50 Amazon gift card will be awarded to the best block coding project and another $50 Amazon gift card will be awarded to the best traditional line coding project. Stay tuned for more information.

Spring Sports Physicals: Wednesday, Feb. 21st beginning at 3pm in the MS nurse’s suite, cost is $20. Please have the PIAA physical packet completed before the physical which can be found on the athletic website under FORMS. Tentative schedule: Track & Field – 3:00pm Boys Soccer – 3:20pm Girls soccer – 3:30pm

Attention Palmyra-Haiti Club members: our next meeting will be on Wednesday, Feb. 21st. We will meet in Mr. Rem’s room at 2:50 and then will walk you over to Pine Street for the meeting. You must have rides arranged for pick up at Pine Street at 4:15 that day. Please check your Schoology account for announcements and further details.

Google Doodle contest: Attention all students: do you think you are creative? Do you enjoy drawing or doodling in your spare time? Would you be interested in sharing your artwork with the whole world? Well now here is your chance. Google is inviting you to take part in the 2018 Doodle 4 Google contest, and create an uplifting doodle that tells the world “What inspires me”. From crayons to clay, graphic design, or even food, young artists can utilize any materials to bring their creation to life. Like all Google Doodles, each doodle must incorporate the letters G-o-o-g-l-e. One national winner will receive a $30,000 college scholarship, a $50,000 technology package for their school/non-profit organization, and a behind the scenes experience at the Google Headquarters in California with the Doodle team to transform their Doodle into an interactive experience on Google.com. If you are interested in the contest see Mr. Madonna for an entry form. All submissions for the contest must be returned to Mr. Madonna by March 1st.

THURSDAY is the final day to turn in money for Mini-Thon! Please place the money in the yellow box in the office with your name on it and your donation page!

The Peer Mentor Club will meet tomorrow from 2:45-3:15. 6th graders should report to room 45. 7th & 8th graders should report to room 102. Please bring everything you need from your locker before you go to the club and remind your parents that you will need transportation home.

Dancing Through the Decades spirit day is 2/21: On Thursday this week, Mini-Thon will be sponsoring a Spirit Day that goes with our theme of “Dancing Through the Decades”. 6th grade should wear 70’s clothing, 7th grade should wear 80’s clothing and 8th grade should 90’s clothing. If you are not sure what to wear, ask your parents – they lived it! Teachers we are encouraging you to dress like your students!
